Great Meats Co is a boutique butcher owned and operated by seasoned chefs and restaurateurs, sourcing top-quality cuts without the big price tag to supply Sydney’s best restaurants, chefs, and home cooks.
We trade and sell premium Wagyu, dry-aged cuts, artisan house-made sausages, free-range pork, and a range of pantry items—wholesale and direct to the public—at excellent prices, thanks to our strong connections within the industry.
Our story
From humble beginnings, Great Meats Co began as a wholesale business in 2018, founded by chef mates Mitch Davis and Gavin Gray. The two leveraged their connections to source the best cuts of top-quality meat for their own bistros and those of their hospitality friends.
During the COVID lockdowns, they expanded to share these top cuts with family and friends, setting up an online shop and home delivery service, before later finding a permanent home for the business in Leichhardt.
Today, we continue to provide chefs and home cooks with easy access to great-value, top-quality cuts—courtesy of the city’s best butchers.
Our shop
Great Meats Co’s retail shop in Leichhardt carries four decades of butchery history within its walls. It’s the former site of the highly respected AC Butchery, a family-owned business run by locals Angela and Carlo for more than 35 years.
Today, you can pop in to pick up a cut from our extensive range of meats, get prepping and cooking tips from our butchers, and browse a selection of goods, sauces, and condiments.

Yes we do - within 50km of our Leichardt store.
Our minimum order for delivery is $100 with a cut-off time of 2pm on weekdays for next-day delivery.
Free delivery is available for orders over $120.
Please note we do not deliver on Sunday's, but in-store pickup is available seven days a week.
